Here we have some of our most frequently asked questions and their answers. If you cannot see what you are looking for here, please feel free to contact us!
Q. What vans do you work on?
A. We will work on pretty much anything within reason but we specialise in the VW Transporter. VW Crafter, VW Caddy as well as the Mercedes Sprinter and Ford Transit Custom
Q. I have a pop top on my campervan, can I have a Fiamma awning fitted?
A. Yes you can, this is something we fit on a very regular basis! Fiamma have pop roof specific brackets available for a large number of vans that are suitable for both the Fiamma F45s awning and the new Fiamma F43VAN awning.
Q. Can you fit solar panels on a pop top roof?
A. Yes! We fit solar panels to pretty much every pop roof that we fit.
Q. If I get my van converted, can I get it changed to a Campervan/Motorhome on the V5C Registration Document?
A. This is a bit of a difficult one to answer. The rules changed in 2018 and only a small amount of converted vans would now qualify to be changed. Essentially, if you are converting a van such as a VW Transporter or Ford Transit Custom and fitting a pop top and full interior conversion, you would not be able to get it reclassified. Pop top roofs do not count towards the "Fixed High Top Roof" requirement in the new rules. You can find the full checklist of DVLA requirements for reclassification to a Motorhome/Campervan on the V5C HERE
Q. Will you fit a Chinese diesel heater to my van?
A. No, we will not fit, repair or service a Chinese diesel heater. In our opinion they are not fit for purpose as most of them do not have any warranty or quality testing and do not meet UK safety standards. We can supply and fit night heaters from Eberspacher, Autoterm and MV.
Q. Can you fit parts that I have supplied?
A. No, unfortunately not. For insurance and warranty purposes we can only fit parts that we have sourced and purchased ourselves.
Q. I've got a fixed window on the side door of my van, is it possible to upgrade this to an opening window?
A. Yes, this is something we can do and have done a number of times in the past. We have the correct tools to remove the existing window without any damage to the van and can then fit the replacement window in its place.
